#Magnoffee : Fun Way to Have Coffee

Heyho, people! I’m back! No, not because I’m not busy enough, but because I have something to share with you, and I couldn’t keep it myself for a longer time. :p
What’s that? Hint: It’s something to do with Magnum.

Who doesn’t know Magnum? It is a legendary ice cream in the world. Started with a single variant: vanilla, now they’re expanding a lot. Since the first booming Magnum Cafe few years ago, the hype wasn't stop right there. Magnum still making further steps, which lead to more enjoyment. YAY!

I'm not a vanilla nor coffee person. But when it comes to Magnum and Coffee, this is where my exception begins. The first time I met Cikopi in Magnum Café (Grand Indonesia) few weeks ago, he told me a lot of coffee thingy. Made me come to a question “If you want to have a cup of coffee, then why you are here? Magnum Café is a place for ice cream, not for coffee.” , and warmly he answered “Ah, you must be haven’t tried Magnofee. Try one!”. Then I got myself a mini Vanilla Magnum and a cup of coffee. OMG! Now I can say I’m a coffee person! :p

I remember how I couldn't stand of coffee. Black and bitter. Thanks to Magnum who invented giving me the idea of #Magnoffee. So what is this #Magnoffee thing? Glad that you asked.

#Magnoffee is the latest trend brought up by Magnum, simply by putting Magnum ice cream into coffee. You can use any flavor of Magnum (mini Magnum is highly suggested) and any kind of coffee. Well, it looks like Affogato, but this one is even better.  Perfect for afternoon coffee time, working company, dessert, just hanging out with friends or family, and any other casual occasions.

Talking about the direction, nobody can say. I mean, like, everybody has their own way to do anything. And so about this one. Magnofee totally have no rule. You can have it your way.  For example, my sister loves to put Magnum Vanilla into hot black coffee, and then she stirs it around using the stick, until some of ice cream melted. In the other hand, I prefer to crush the Magnum inside the packaging, then pour it all into the coffee. My friend love to use Brownie Magnum for her caffe latte. Need extra topping? You may add cinnamon or sugar or any stuff suits you well. I love grated dark chocolate, and my aunty loves grated ginger.

Having Magnoffee is so fun. I’ve done few experiments until now, and still keep counting. What about you? Make you own creation now!

PS. You can grab your favorite Magnum at nearest supermarket, mini market or any other stores.

Alcoholic Bar: Eat and Drink Alcohol! (Food Tasting)

Heyho, people! After a long blogwalking, my writing spirit has been awaken somehow. Thanks to my fellow foodies! :p
Kemang area is famous as hang out place for Jakartan youngsters. Many fancy restaurants built in here, offer their own uniqueness. Alcoholic Bar is one of them. Located a bit 'hidden', you may find it still in one complex with KOI Kemang.
I received invitation to try their new brunch menu with some fellow foodies.

My coming is well-welcomed with the first appetizer; Green Peas Cream Soup with Diced Pork (IDR 38K).  IMHO, this was a good appetizer. The green peas puree wasn't too soft, still had some rough texture. Glad to hear that. If the texture was too soft, I guess it would look like a baby food.
Tasted a bit plain, but good enough to tickle my buds. Now I'm ready for bigger kick.
Green Peas Cream Soup with Diced Pork (IDR 38K)

They served all the brunch menu with Italian Sparkling Wine. This was my first time having brunch with alcohol in it. lol.
Anyway, they are having weekend brunch promo, where you can have 3 course continental brunch menu (consist of soup, main course, and dessert) and FREE FLOW Italian Sparkling Wine, only for IDR 250++. This promo valid only on Saturday-Sunday 10am-2pm.
Go give it a chance and make sure you don't get drunk! ;)
Italian Sparkling Wine

Foccacia with Cointreau Gravlax Salmon, Scramble Eggs & Rocket Salad IDR 50K

Eggs Blackstone IDR 45K

Crispy Amaretto Pork Belly IDR 68K

Eggs Hemmingway IDR 50K

Jack Daniel’s Baby Back Ribs IDR 180K (full slab) or IDR 90K (half slab)

Orange Martini/Champagne (I forgot)

Salmon Crepes with white Wine Mornay Sauce served with rocket salad IDR 40K
Champagne Jelly

HOMEMADE VODKA RASPBERRY SORBET IDR 28K

I had a blissful brunch. I loved the food. My favorite was the Pork Ribs. I loved it. Heavenly well-marinated. Came in one plate with baked beans and chick peas. I loved them too. No, it's not canned baked beans. They made it themselves. Sweet enough and not tomato-sauce-ish.
They had 5 types of poached-egg-with-muffin (you may read them on the photo above). The differences between them was the topping only. Which one was the best? Depends on your taste. ;)
The poached egg was perfect. The yolk running out sexily covering the muffin and topping.

In the end, they served us Orange Martini/Champagne. I forgot what's that. The point is, it was orange alcohol, which I enjoyed a lot. It was my fave beverage that day. Light and refreshing.

The dessert was too serious for me. I always love light and fruity dessert. But I just can't stand the alcoholic dessert. Maybe I got too much alcohol that day (since I'm not an alcoholic person).

If you can't drink alcohol, don't worry. You still can eat the dishes. Alcohol material won't leave any alcohol effect after been cooked, but the exotic scent still remains in the dishes.

Island Creamery

Hi, there! It's dessert time!! Who's up for some ice cream? Me me me!!
For me, there's always a place left for dessert, so after had my dinner, with a full belly, I had no doubt to enter this ice cream joint in Flavor Bliss (Alam Sutra, Tangerang). This is their first branch in Indonesia.

Rocky Road Cake is below. I loved it. Marshmallow, peanut, and chocolate fudge combined in one bite was such a bliss to me.
Rocky Road Cake

Red Velvet Cake (25K IDR). Well, this wasn't not my type of cake. The cake was too dry and sweet for me. Well, maybe red velvet cake just became trending lately so many joint try to serve it, hoping it could boost their popularity. Unfortunately, our tongue don't do lie. I don't recommend this cake to you. If you happen to be here, try their another cake.

Red Velvet Cake

Mud Pie (35K IDR/Slice). Consisted of many layers of ice cream, and contained many oreos. *big grin*
Had layers of ReverseO Ice Cream (chocolate), Cookies n Cream, and caramel, with dark chocolate in the bottom and oreos on top. The dark chocolate worked to balance the sweetness from other components.
Mud Pie Slice

Kahlua Latte Ice Cream Scoop (22K IDR).
Latte and kahlua in ice cream form was not bad. If you're a coffee lover, go try this one!
All ice cream price:
22K IDR for singe scoop
36K IDR for double scoops
Kahlua Latte Ice Cream Scoop

Mini Baked Alaska (35K IDR). Looks so tempting, isn't it?
Thin slice of sponge cake as the bottom layer, berry ice cream for the filling, and meringue for the cover. Anyway, the berry ice cream took most part of it. I tasted too much vanilla and too little berry in it.
Mini Baked Alaska

Mini Baked Alaska

Red Velvet Ball (5K IDR each).
Nice try! The red velvet much moister and richer here.
Red Velvet Ball

Hot Chocolate Cake.
It was very toothsome, but unfortunately too sweet. The chocolate cake was perfectly baked, so the chocolate melt was draining out lovely.

Q Smokehouse: Mexican Food Panel

I love smoked meats! It has the best smell a meat could have. Q Smokehouse is an expert in smoked meats. They love to do experiments and they have invented many many many new unique recipe that no one has. Creative!

Celebrating their 1st anniversary, Q Smokehouse Senopati invited some bloggers and try their new menu: Mexican food! Yeiy.
So bad, I was a bit sick at that time, but I wasn't sick enough to not come, of course. :p

Tortilla Soup (35K). Yes, this was good. Recording to the chef, they used three kind of beans for this dish. As it was a tomato based soup, it tasted a bit light and very powerful to kick my buds.

Watching the chef cooking for us. :)

The chef's preparing tacos for us.

Fajitas Delight- 135K. Consists of prawn, chicken, beef with fresh salad and soft tortilla. They smelled so good!! When it put on my table, I took photos of it quickly so I could eat it all soon. :p
Fortunately, the taste wasn't disappoint me at all. It tasted so good! I loved it. The beef and chicken was still juicy enough, but well done and well seasoned.

This is the Tacos made by the chef. Mine was too awful to be showed off. Lol.
It tasted fresh and yummy. The smell of the smoked meat met the fresh veggie and sour tomato. Slurp!

Texas Style Barbecue Brisket Platter. Available in 2 size: regular for 200gr  (99K) and light for 150gr (79K). This is one of their signature dish. The owner, who is also the executive chef, said he used stock of rambutan tree to smoke this beef brisket. He also said, he already tried many kind of stocks available in Jakarta, and rambutan tree's stock had the best result. I didn't doubt his choice. He's right. It tasted so nice. The beef was so tender, juicy, and tasty. The bbq sauce was mild enough, so it didn't ruin the beef's taste.

Crispy Prawn Bistro Pasta - 85K. No, it's not expensive, as it came in an extraordinary size. You can share it up to 3 persons. The pasta was al dente. The prawn was big enough and it didn't smell fishy. The sauce was mild but strong enough to leave a good impression on me. Love this too. :)

Agave Salsa Sorbet. This is also their new fusion mexican menu. They use lemon sorbet, which taste light sour, and fruits (tomato, olives, avocado, and raisins) with a hint of cinnamon and clove. At first I felt strange, but later, I couldn't stop to have more and more.

I didn't take the picture of the place because they were close for public that day, and they would have an event that night, so the table arrangement was different with usual. But I love the place, it was cozy, neat and comfort.

Overall, I enjoyed all the food their provide. I definitely will come back again someday. See you there! :)

Collage - Pullman Jakarta

Hi people!
This time, my owner were invited to a buffet dining at Collage, Pullman Hotel Jakarta. Pullman Hotel had just opened their first hotel ini Jakarta (they have one in Bali). Located at Central Park, this hotel has direct access to Central Park Mall.
So bad my owners came late because one of them was in a big matter. Please don't ask what's that. Oh no. Stop asking. I said don't ask! ;)
Anyway, as my owners are in major addiction of Instagram , so today's photos are provided via instragram. I mean, edited with instagram. :) ---> Hey, please feel free to follow them : @rozelina & @ANTZL33

Back to Collage. Collage is an all-day dining at Pullman. Ssssttt. They also had a bar named Bunk.
Collage provides many kind of foods, they had some blocks of stall. One block for Indian, one block for Chinese, Japanese, Indonesian, etc. All the menu change everyday but still sticks to theme of each block. Each blocks had some chefs cooking, and we could watch them making food.
The foods was average. I mean, what do you expect from an international buffet? The main point of being international food buffet is provide food as much as you can. Not to make something that would become their signature. Well, even it would be better if they had one. But who cares? As long as the food wasn't bad, they're good.

The place was so comfy, and they also had outdoor seat too. The interior design still sticks with the whole building design, which very similar to art gallery. So bold and different with another five stars hotels. And FYI, I love love love the concept and design of the whole interior. (as much as i saw)

Overall, I enjoyed the dishes. They were good. I saw sushi, sashimi, curry, dimsum, pasta, etc. The also provide cocktails and mocktails if you ask. I heard the price is about 190,000++ IDR/person during weekdays, and 228.000 IDR++/person for weekend. (exclude beverage)
If you asked about it is worth the price or not, maybe it will come back to you. How much can you eat?  ;)

You have to see their desserts stall! So drooling.

By the way, most of the photos below are desserts. Yeah, I love dessert. But it doesn't mean I didn't eat the maincourse. It's just I haven't upload the other photos, because they're still in another camera. I will upload them soon. Promise. ;)

Colorful Macaroons. They had different flavor for each color. Yum!

Croissant Pudding. Yeah, it's not bread pudding. It's Croissant Pudding. Extremely yummy!!! And i'm craving for this now. Somebody please bring me one!

Foie Gras Cream Brulee. - Well, I'm not a fan of foie gras. Don't ask me. ;p

Cold misoba. slurp!

Pepenero Cucina Italiana

Italian restaurant is booming in Jakarta lately. Pepenero is one of them. First opened since 2004 in Bali, Pepenero already has 3 branches in Jakarta and 1 branch in Serpong. After heard all good things about Pepenero, I was surely wanted to try at least once. So here I was. As they had 3 branches in Jakarta, I thought I had no worry about no booking in advance. A little shock, I was almost got no seat.
Anyway, the later the time, the more crowded it was.

As I was waiting for my friends before I ordered, they gave me this complimentary bread. Consisted of 4 pieces, it was really good to kick your taste bud. The bread was a bit crunchy on the edge, and a bit chewy in the middle. The texture was nice. The tomato cube on the bread, gave fresh sensation when you eat the crunchy-chewy-savory bread. Anyway, I thought they didn't put any sugar to the tomato.

My friends had came. And Pepenero was very generous. They gave me a basket of complimentary bread AGAIN. Yeiy! Well, nothing much I could say about it, as I just eat a few of them because I couldn't wait for the main dishes. :p

Prosciutto e Zucchine Grigliate (45K). Thin Italian pizza, with tomato sauce, mozzarella  cheese, ham and green zucchini. Well, it turned out they weren't be generous this time. You may see from the pict, the surface of pizza wasn't full of topping. Fortunately it tasted nice though. A bit salty and savory.

Rigatoni Stracicati (49K). Rigatoni is a form of tube-shaped pasta of varying lengths and diameters. It is larger than penne and ziti and sometimes slightly curved. Rigatoni is usually ridged, and the tube's end is square-cut like ziti, not diagonal like penne (Wikipedia). Rigatoni Stracicati was  rigatoni with bolognese ragu sauce and mozzarella on top. The bolognese was good. A bit sour (tomato-ish). The pasta was al dente, not too hard yet not too soft. So loveable.

Spaghettini Nostromo (49K). Pasta with green paprika, fresh tomato, tuna and calamari. The pasta was al dente. The sauce was a bit thick and not too much, but enough to cover all the pasta. This dish really kicked my taste buds. Tasted a bit spicy, and so mouthwatering. I definitely wanted some more!!

Linguine Alla Marinara (49K). Linguine pasta with mixed seafood and tomato sauce. Linguine is a kind of pasta, which a bit bigger than spaghetti but smaller than fettucini. The pasta was al dente too. The sauce was good. They were generous of clams. hihi :)

Enough with the main dishes, I saw Soufflé Al Cioccolate (44K). Of course I ordered it without think twice. And I didn't regret it. It worth every cent I spent. It tasted great. As I watched Masterchef, once Gordon Ramsay said that soufflé was one of the hardest dessert to make. You could feel the sensation when you crack that surface on top then touch the creamy milky chocolate inside. Whoooaaaah. I am drooling now. After I ate this, I always been craving for this.

Gelatti Nacciola (29K). Well, it was gelato, which is Italian ice cream. The difference between gelato and ice cream is gelato is thicker. So when I heard gelato, first thing came up in my mind was it would make me queasy because I was too full and eat something thick. But the fact is, it wasn't. This was good. Well, it was creamy, but also light though. With tasted almond, and sweet.

Pinzimonio di Frutta (45K). It was a plate of mixed fruits (watermellon, banana, pineapple, strawberry, and orange) with chocolate dip. It was pretty good and (of course) healthy.

Overall, I was satisfies, and for sure would plan another visit. Yeiy!
