Food Tasting Panel ( JackRabbit)

Heyho! Tommy's here. Another food tasting invitation came from JackRabbit. Yuhuuu! Big thanks to Goorme.
In the invitation, written the event would be lead by Chef Juna as Excecutive Chef. So I planned to take a pict with him and made all the girls jealous of me!*evil laugh*
Unfortunately, my evil plan couldn't be done. Chef Juna was too busy shooting for Masterchef Indonesia. :(
But I still can make everybody envy, just by posting my visit there. :D
Oh, as this is a food tasting, so don't ask me about the price. And all the menu below are available for brunch. (they have different menu for lunch and dinner)

The event was held for brunch, so it started about 11.30am.

Complimentary bread. Yeiy! As I was in major hunger, these breads really save my life. LoL.
The bread was good. Not too soft and not too rough. Tasted light.

2 Eggs Any Style. Well, I don't like the style. hahaha. It was very hard to be sliced. Maybe because it was already cold, so the egg was harder then before. So I gave up to cut it, and eat something else.

Beef Chicichangga! Love this!!!hihi. Looks like a springrolls, rite? But it wasn't! Inside that tortilla was minced beef, which super delicious. Sweet and spicy. The spice really really great. Crunchy outside, juicy and tasteful inside.
It served with baked beans, which contains pork anyway. So if you don't eat pork, just don't eat the baked beans. :)

Lamb Chop. Hey, it was nice. I rarely eat lamb, but i said this one was great! It's a chop of grilled lamb's leg. Pretty similar with barbeque. Tasted a bit sweet and savory. It served with tortillas, so you may eat them together. 1 portion only contains 2 lamb chop.
I can't talk much about this, I don't deal with lamb often. :p

Caviar Scrambled Egg. When you put a bit of caviar, you shouldn't put caviar into the dish's name. The sausages was nice as before. Garlic bread was okay. Bacon was okay. I didn't got the scrambled egg so I don't know how did it taste.

Chicken En Croute. As we (me and other food bloggers) agreed to order one of each dish,at last I ordered this one again for myself.hehe.
I love pastry! This dish reminded me of beef wellington. So you already know the idea, huh?
Chicken swelled in pastry. First time they served it, it was cold already. But 2nd time I ordered, it came warm. Yeiy! And it was much better when still warm. The pastry a bit crunchy and savory. The chicken was juicy. I forgot what's in the middle of chicken, but i am pretty sure it was kind of vegetables. I enjoyed this dish so much!

Beef Wiener Schnitzel. Ooooh how I love this! This was deep fried sliced beef. Taste tender, juicy, tasty, and crunchy. It went very well even without the sauce.hahaha. Served with mashed potato which just okay.

Grilled Quarter Chicken Lemon. As you may see the title, it's a quarter of chicken. It was grilled. Tasted salty and juicy. For me it was too ordinary. Anyway, I don't like undone meat. For me it's yucky. As this chicken was pretty huge, the middle of it was still undone and bloody. Yaiks!

Egg Benedict. Id you think this is a burger, you're totally wrong. On the top, it was egg. Yeah. It was egg! How can they made an egg into that shape? Me don't know. But to be honest, I was amazed. Seems like it was pan-fried. But its shape was too perfect. Anyway, it was wellcooked. When you break the egg, the yolk flowed out and it was TEMPTING! Below the yolk, there were some slices of bacon, and sweet mini bread. Again, egg was the hero. I believe even Gordon Ramsay would love this.lol

Steak & Egg. I didn't eat this. I found almost empty plate when I was going to eat this.hahaha. So I assume this one was yummy that everybody else compete just to eat it. :D

Laksa. I don't like the laksa. It tasted too milky and tasteless to me.

American Hearty Pancakes. JackRabbit has great sausage! I love love love the sausage.hihi. Juicy, soft but not mushy. The pancakes was also good. Soft and sweet. Their pancakes were not fluffy. Oh, and the bacon was just okay. I prefer the sausage. lalalal~

Butterscotch Pancakes. Same with the former pancakes, it tasted good. But I didn't like the touch of raisin-ice cream which smells like cinnamon. I thought some more fruits would be nice.

Sorry for the poor quality. As it was dim light and we (even) got blackout some times, so it was really lack of light there. I got this Choco Lava as my complimentary because I check in for the first time here at 4square.hahaha. You may also get it just by showing your check in to the waiter.
Anyway, the choco lava was superb. Love the rich moist choco cake with hot melting dark choco!! The mocca ice cream gave balance to the rich chocolate. As decoration, there was cute rabbit chocolate with cherry inside it. NYUM!
Guilty pleasure came after.hahahaha

Apple Pie. As ordinary apple pie, it taste sweet and cinnamon-y. That was sorbet shich tasted light and refreshing. Really good for dessert. :D

Tiramisu. 3 words: Light, sweet, coffee. Love it!

I ordered Macha Mint Smoothie. Maybe I have to admit, I am not a greentea lover. Hah! It tasted minty, sweet, and vanilla-ish. Vanilla made me wanna throw up. :p

Can you see we ate a lot, huh?lol

And we got free voucher valued 300.000IDR from JackRabbit!!! Horeyyy!
Big thanks to JackRabbit and Goorme. Sure I'll be back soon. Wanna join me? :D

Red Tomato

Heyho! Long time no see. Blame it to my owner!! LoL.
Believe me, they've eaten a lot. In the middle of hectic days, at least she tried share tonight. So this is a quick post. Better then nothing. ;p

Red Tomato! Not too hip, but still pretty much exists. Actually I never heard what they're famous of. But i love the atmosphere. Broken white! yeiy!

BBQ Pizza (Reg) - 39K. Where was the meat??? Seriously, when i ordered this, i hoped for a lot of meat with BBQ sauce. Well, you can see from the pict i took. It was lack of meat. :(
Ok, lets move on to the taste. For me, it was S-T-A-N-D-A-R-D. Nothing special. I love PHD much then this. So sorry buddy. :)

Lasagna (45K). For I was craving for pasta, I ordered this lasagna. Wish their lasagna as good as Pizza Hut or Cafe Cartel , but (again) I was disappointed. :'(
The sauce was too aqueous. Pasta was overcooked. And (again) lack of meat! Aaaaa. I want some meat!!LoL. Oh, one more. The portion is too small for me. ;p

tin pan alley

Heyho! Banzai!
Just remember i've been to this bistro and haven't posted it, so here I am. heheh.
Many months ago, Tin Pan Alley opened, and became words of byword of many people. So I really2 excited to try, at least once. But well, I got there twice anyway. Maybe once wasn't enough. :D

The atmosphere was pretty nice with dim light. They separate smoking and non-smoking room without any separator. (Well, it was pretty annoying to me.)
The ambiance was about black and white with old-looked style.

This is their menu. Pretty much American Bistro-ish, rite? :)

Grilled Pork Sausage (89K). Hmm...... To be honest, i didn't like it. The sausage was too dry and hard to munch. I even got my jaw weary.hahaha
I don't know how they made it and why it was such a bad sausage. I thought sausage would always be great. :(
Fortunately, the sauce was pretty good. It's BBQ sauce anyway. The veggie was nice. Soft but not too flabby. French fries was the best! hahaha

Hawaiian BBQ Ribs (165K). This one is my fave!!! The ribs was super great. Mild, very soft, rich, nice, and YUMMY!!! Really wellcooked. The spice soaked into the meat. I guess they grilled it in the exact perfect degrees. Thumbs up! The hawaiian sauce balanced the heavy taste of the meat.
The worst part of this dish was the small portion of the rib, which fortunately saved by french fries and veggie so you don't to worry about you're going to be in hunger in a minute.hahah.
I put 8.5 from 10 to this dish. Price tells a lot, huh? :p

On my 2nd visit, I tried Pork Chop (98K) . (Again) They did it very well.
It was pretty similar with grilled chicken or chicken steak, but it was pork. Yeah, my owners are pork lover.LoL.
The pork was pretty good, but i found some vein ( I don't like vein btw). Oh, and this time was mushroom sauce, which a bit salty and went well with the pork. Because the pork had not much taste.

And this one was Mid West Pork Burger (59K). In Jakarta, it's very hard to find pork burger. I found one here, and It went with cranberry sauce!! Can you imagine that? I was so curious, so I ordered one.heheh.
Buns: Okay. Nothing wrong about it.
Lettuce: Not too much and not too few. Very fresh.
Pork: Rich and juicy. It was deep fried pork chop anyway. And melted cheese on it was like its soulmate.
Cranberry sauce: Have you ever imagine how pork could go with cranberry sauce? For me it was pretty weird at first. But as I was getting used to it, it pretty nice. A bit sweet and sour for juicy and only a bit salty pork chop.

They called it Tic Tack Toe (35K). Hmm.. interesting name. I ordered one. Taste nice and refreshing. It was orange juice with passion fruit and melon, and furnished with lemongrass.

Strawberry Lemonade (29K). If you wish for sweet lemonade, you are wrong.
Here, the lemonade was sour. Plus, I chose the strawberry one, so they put strawberries and made it even more sour. Yeiy! But I guess this is girl's choice.hahaha

Blackcurrant Tea (25K). Well, this one was just ordinary tea with blackcurrant fragrance. Nothing special about it. :)

CHoco Truffle Cake (29K). Me very likey!!hihi.
Rich and moist chocolate made me fly!hahahaha.
Anyway, it was too small for me. Aaaaaaa. :(

Opera cake (29K). Love this too! Coffee and chocolate in one slice of cake. Yeiy!
Bitter sweet world was hereeee. ~ I'm gonna dance dance dance! Wohooo!

Tokio Kitchen

Tokio Kitchen is a hip now.
I went there just right after they first opened, but I forgot I haven't posted it yet. :p
Tokio kitchen. Offer us sensation of Japanese food street. WHere we can order our dishes directly to the stall and get them served on our table later. When i came by, it was very very very crowded. Maybe because it was weekend.hihi
Oh btw, since its been ages, I had thrown away the bill, so I don't remember the name of the dishes and its price. Please understand. Lol

Onigiri. Just ordinary dishes. The prawn was fresh. Ah nothing special about it lah.

Katsu Burger! It costed me about 30K, and I thought that's worth it. I liked it. Even burger is only an ordinary dish, but from all the dishes I tried here, this one was the second best. The deep fried chicken was juicy and a bit salty. The bun was nice. Not too much lettuce and tomato. A slice of cheese which half-melted. French fries was crunchy and salty. Bunch of loves!

Takoyaki. Not recommended. Too mushy and I couldn't taste the squid. Tasteless and ...... well, not recommended.

Ah I forgot. It's kind of deep fried meatballs. Costed me about 30K. And this one was the best of all. The meat was juicy, tasteful, savory, and everything just perfect. The question is, does 30K worth 4 meatballs? :)

Okonomiyaki. It's definitely takoyaki's friend. They have many things in common, and this time, including taste. I don't like it. Gaaah!

It's supposed to be grilled chicken skin or something like that. Tasteless. Plain. Even have no grilled-fragrance. Blah.

Beef tounge. This one was much better. Not too tough, and tasted sweet with grilled-smell which i like. :D

Errr.. forgot this one. But i'm sure it was a fish, and smelled fishy. Sorry, I can't stand of negative smell. Yaiks!

Banan SPlit. This one pretty nice. The banana wasn't too mature and yet not too rare. nice texture, it was

Waffle. Just okay. Not recommended but still edible. The waffle was just so so. Small portion. Well, chocolate ice cream would never be wrong to me. :p

They called it rainbow something. I forgot.hahaha. But this one was pretty refreshing! You may see it from how it looks like. Slurp! :9
It consist of ice, syrup, sweet and dense milk, pineapple, strawberry, melon, and peach.
The only thing wrong about this was the shape. What the h*ll is that?hahahah

This is the cashier. How cuuuuuteee. :D

Sushi Groove

Do not call me Tommy if i could stop munching. wahahaha. This time my heart chose Sushi Groove. Hope it could groove my heart. (blah!)

For appetizing myself, i ordered edamame (9K). How much do you hope in a bowl of edamame? I mean, it's just edamame. It should be salty and that's all. So here it was, salty and soft. I don't need to tell you more about it, do i?:)

Takoyaki (18K). Suprisingly, it was made from potato. Do you know kroket? It's deep fried mashed potato. And this dish was similar with kroket, but the difference is this takoyaki had tako (octopus) inside it. Was it better than the usual one? I guess it wasnot. So sorry. :(

Shinjuku Rol (38K). As I couldn't bear raw food, so my owner didn't eat this. But as i heard her friend said this dish was great. Light. and the salmon wasn't smell fishy.

Tako Idako Roll (35K). The tako wasnot in the roll. So you may eat them together if you want to. For me it's just so so. Not too special. The roll itself was pretty good. Lettuce with kani in the roll, and baby octopus on the top. Oh, the roll was bigger that usual roll.

Krakatau Roll (29K). This one was a deep fried roll with mayo and chilly sauce on top. Yummy? SURE! Inside the roll: kani, cucumber, and others (i forgot. :p)
It was a bit spicy, since there was chilly sauce on it, and a bit crunchy as it was deep fried. A bit heavy as it was mayo, but the chilly sauce really lighten up the taste and give high lite into it. wohoo!

Karaage Cheese Burger Rice. First, I was just about to try new thing I haven't tried before. I didn't hope for something good. But this rice burger was outstanding! Superbig size (for me). Deep fried chicken karaage tasted so well. Well cooked, but too puffy for me, maybe they should make it smaller so we don't have to cut the karaage before eating. The rice was just the same with sushi. Lettuce, onions, tomatoes gave freshness into oily karaage. A perfect balance. I was so full already. huff. :D

Oh the manager was soooooooo nice. He gave us free ogura ice cream! Well, actually it was because their staff made some mistake, but it was okay. And suddenly the manager gave this to us, and I was like 'hore'.hahaha.

Overall, it was good. The price was still affordable, remembering Sushi Groove is one of Ismaya's merchant. And of course the concept was nice; modern Japanese. Dim light and wooden interior are their trademark. I was pretty delighted for the service, but for the taste, I guess they should make a lot of improvement. :p

The Charcoal

The Charcoal has opened since not too long time ago. This is their first outlet. Grand Indonesia.
I've seen it for pretty long time, and I decided to make a visit someday, and here i was. :)

Ishiyaki Bibinba (55K). Don't know what does Ishiyaki means, but i was pretty sure that this was beebimbab, just like korean food that i love. The taste wasn't disappointed me. Prett well. Hot stone, half-cooked egg, and well cooked veggies brought a superb result. Oh they gave me small slices of nori too. I love it. Even the spice wasn't strong enough, but it was very very edible for me. :)

Nabeyaki Udon (78K). Well, i love udon, but this one was too plain for me. Seriously. I guess they need more spice. The broth was just okay (it was prawn broth), the tofu was just fine, the other veggies were just fine, the prawn tempura was poor. It was crunchy at first, but since they put it into the bowl, so it became soft... errrr... too soft i think. A very terrible condition for a tempura. Yaiks!

Sushi Ebi Tan was great! simple sushi roll, tasted a bit sour and fresh. Even my owner's mom loved it. She said this was the best sushi in her life.hahahaha :p

Food Testing Panel (Pasta de Waraku)

Ahoy! I am back with another story of Food Testing Panel (or in my words, free yummy food. :p) from Ismaya. This is time for Pasta de Waraku! wohoooooo!
As the former gathering, I could order everything I want and eat 'till the end of the day.wahahaha. Unfortunately, I still had my limit, so I 'just' ordered these dishes.:D

This is chicken teriyaki twister. Twister is Pasta de Waraku's new dish. It's made from their pizza crust which is so so so so thin and crunchy, and filled with salad and potato puree. In this case, it also contain chicken teriyaki which was sweet, crunchy, tender, and nice! :D
the puree and salad was cold, gave fresh effect into it.
love this a lot. They used fried chicken karaage, mixed it into teriyaki sauce, and poured some sesame. In my opinion, this is the best twister of all.:)

Err.. i forgot what's this. :p
Well, it was a twister, just the same with my former explaination, but i forgot what kind of twister.heheh. So sorryyyyyyyyyyy. :(

Grrrr. Damn! I forgot this one too. :(
But I remembered that this was quiet good.hehe

This is Seafood Soup Pasta. So bad it contained crab meat so I shouldn't eat it. Blame it to my crab meat allergenic! :(

This one is pretty rare. This was Seafood Pasta with Black Ink Sauce. What's the different with another black noodle? The pasta isnot black. The sauce is the one that give black color. So when I ate this, my teeth had a lot of black spot. Oh noooo! But don't worry. The taste was worth the black spot within your teeth. :p
They cooked the pasta really well. The sauce not too taste, but as it made from squid ink, is wasn't smell fishy, and it tasted savory. :)

Kimchi Al' Aglio Olio. I hated kimchi. For me, it tasted too spicy and too sour. I don't i should take my words back or not, because Pasta de Waraku made me love it.wahahaha. This Olio was sooooo gorgeous. Can't you see how good it looks? Can you taste the goodness in it? It taste super well. I guess I'll order it again when I make my next visit here. :)
To gave 'kimchi effect', they put some small cubic cabbage into it. The taste was savory and a bit sour spicy, but the balance in it made me fall in love. :D

Basil Prawn and Tako. I guess i once tried this dish before. It smelled good. The prawn was big enough to made me drooling.ahaha. The pasta was wellcooked and the dish was nice. Thanks to the basil for becoming a hero here. :D

Bacon kimchi Pizza or Kimchi Bacon Pizza. I don't know which one is right.heheh. Well, I loved this too! The bacon was brilliant. Taste so good. Not overcooked yet not raw. The kimchi didn't do lot of work here, but i think it's good for nothing ruin the taste of the bacon. :)

Bulgogi Pizza. I ordered this because in the picture there's a lot of beef there. But when i ordered it, this one came to my table; not as much as in the picture i saw. Well, i tried to accept it, hope the taste would take me higher. To be honest, i didn't. But fortunately, it wasn't too bad, so i took this as still edible thing. :)

This was choco milkshake or cold choco ya? hmm. Damn. I got short term memory. ggrrr. Ah let's go straight int my opinion about this beverage.nyehehe. It was owesome! Maybe because i am a chocolate lover.hehe. But i love chocolate, i love whipped cream. That's why i am this huge. But i don't care as long as i am hapy. wohooo!
